Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience:
Three years of progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical or other work that has provided a general knowledge of management principles and practices; a thorough general knowledge of the goals, principles, methods and techniques of the broad field of recreation; and a thorough understanding of the recreation and leisure interests and motivations of individuals and groups. Must have progressively responsible experience in a military or civilian recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the IT&T specialty. Must have responsible experience in developing or administering a budget program. Must have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing and be able to read, speak and write English. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Must satisfactorily complete installation, state, and national criminal background checks. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
