To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/30/2021. TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-04 LEVEL YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Have at least one (1) year of general experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying general experience includes: Experience in clerical procedures using Microsoft applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel on a Windows operating system; Reviewing eligibility documents and data and enters information into the applicable data system; Creating a variety of documents using approved templates; Experience performing clerical tasks in an office setting such as: scanning, packaging of documents, files maintenance and assists in compiling and maintaining data for a variety of reports.

EDUCATION: Have successfully completed two (2) years of education above high school in any field for which high school graduation or equivalent is the normal prerequisite. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. This education must have been obtained at an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with your application materials. Education cannot be credited without documentation.

COMBINATION: Have an equivalent combination of successfully completed post-high school education and specialized experience, as described above, which meet the total qualification requirements for this grade level. NOTE: Your experience must be documented in your resume and transcripts are required. TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-05 LEVEL YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
EXPERIENCE: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience includes: : Experience in clerical procedures using Microsoft applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel on a Windows operating system; Reviewing eligibility documents and data and enters information into the applicable data system; Creating a variety of documents using approved templates; Experience performing clerical tasks in an office setting such as: scanning, packaging of documents, files maintenance and assists in compiling and maintaining data for a variety of reports; Communicating with management in regards to customer’s escalated problems and feedback on process improvements.

EDUCATION: The successful completion of 4 years of education above the high school level. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

COMBINATION: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience to meet total qualification requirements at the GS-5 level. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED). Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary with some light physical demands. The employee is often required to perform data entry, talk, and navigate various computerized systems for long periods of time. These positions provide clerical, technical and administrative support in the Caregivers Section of the Enrollment Eligibility Division (EED) of the Health Eligibility Center (HEC) of VHA Member Services (MS) and are located in Atlanta, GA. HEC manages the nation-wide VA medical benefits program, including Veterans health care eligibility-verification and enrollment Programs.
