Position Overview
The Director of Marketing will lead the development and execution of an integrated marketing and communications strategy that advances the organization’s mission and supports key organizational goals.
This role combines strategic leadership, planning, creative direction, data-driven decision-making, and hands-on implementation. It is designed for a marketing and communications leader who can build clear strategy, execute across digital channels, manage the educator conversion funnel, supervise internal and external marketing resources, and support organizational growth.
This position offers the opportunity to lead major initiatives, experiment with new approaches, contribute thought leadership, and help shape marketing during a period of significant growth.
What You’ll Do
- Lead digital marketing across all key channels, including website, SEO, AI discoverability, email, social media, word-of-mouth campaigns, and paid media.
- Drive year-over-year growth in qualified leads and conversions through strategic digital marketing execution.
- Manage the full educator conversion funnel, including lead generation, segmentation, nurturing, and follow-up.
- Move educators from initial awareness through program completion using clear, targeted, and well-managed funnel strategies.
- Develop and maintain messaging frameworks, visuals, and compelling content that increase organizational visibility.
- Create messaging and content that deepen stakeholder engagement and support mission-driven communication goals.
- Maintain an analytics framework to track KPIs across marketing and communications channels.
- Translate marketing data into clear narratives and insights that support leadership decision-making.
- Supervise the Marketing and Communications Manager.
- Manage agency and contractor relationships connected to marketing and communications work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in marketing or communications.
- Experience with leadership accountabilities in marketing or communications.
- Proven track record designing and executing integrated marketing strategies that support organizational goals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to craft compelling messages for educator and education-sector audiences.
- Fluency with digital marketing platforms, social media strategy, and data analytics.
- Ability to use data insights to make strategic marketing decisions.
- Experience with marketing automation, CRM systems, and audience segmentation.
- Technical proficiency with website, design, CRM, social media, marketing, and AI tools.
- Excellent project management and people management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
