Employment Type: Full-Time
Department: Growth
Annual Salary Range: $170,000 – $190,000
About the Role
This opportunity is for a Product Marketing Manager to lead how small business owners discover, evaluate, and learn about financial tools across organic search, AI-powered answer engines, app stores, review platforms, and community-driven channels.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role at the intersection of product marketing, growth marketing, and customer experience. The Product Marketing Manager will own the brand’s presence across search platforms, AI answer engines, app stores, review websites, and online communities where self-employed professionals look for banking and financial guidance.
The role requires a strong combination of product marketing strategy, content development, SEO, answer engine optimization, app store optimization, conversion testing, community engagement, social listening, cross-functional collaboration, and performance analysis.
What You’ll Do
Answer Engine Optimization
- Develop and execute a strategy to ensure the brand appears accurately and favorably when self-employed business owners use AI tools to search for banking recommendations.
- Improve brand visibility across platforms such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews.
- Create and optimize content designed to improve performance across AI answer engines and large language model search experiences.
- Own both the strategy and hands-on content development required to produce measurable results.
Search Engine Optimization
- Lead the organic search strategy from initial planning through execution and performance measurement.
- Develop keyword strategies designed to attract qualified organic traffic.
- Manage on-page optimization across relevant website pages and resources.
- Create detailed content briefs that support search visibility, customer education, and conversion goals.
- Partner with technical stakeholders on technical SEO improvements and implementation.
- Own both SEO strategy and content development to support sustainable organic growth.
Website and Resource Center
- Improve website conversion rates through continuous testing of brand positioning, messaging, content, and customer value propositions.
- Develop content that clearly explains product benefits and helps prospective customers determine whether the solution is right for their businesses.
- Use performance data and customer insights to identify opportunities to improve website and resource center content.
App Store Optimization
- Own and continuously improve iOS and Android app store listings.
- Optimize screenshots, descriptions, keywords, and other listing elements to increase visibility and conversion.
- Test and refine app store content to improve conversion from listing views to downloads.
- Track app store performance and prioritize improvements based on measurable results.
Reviews, Ratings, and Social Listening
- Monitor and respond to customer reviews and brand mentions across app stores, Trustpilot, and social media platforms.
- Engage with customers professionally and authentically while protecting brand credibility.
- Identify recurring questions, concerns, feedback, and customer sentiment.
- Share meaningful themes and customer insights with Product and Customer Experience teams.
- Use review and social listening data to support improvements in messaging, product experience, and customer communication.
Reddit and Community Engagement
- Own the brand’s voice and presence on Reddit and similar online communities where self-employed professionals discuss banking, finance, taxes, and business operations.
- Participate in community conversations in an authentic and helpful manner.
- Correct inaccurate information and clarify misconceptions when appropriate.
- Build trust by providing useful, credible, and relevant information instead of relying on overly promotional messaging.
- Monitor community discussions to identify emerging customer needs, questions, and reputation risks.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner closely with Growth, Customer Experience, Brand, and Product teams.
- Collaborate with Growth on experiments involving new acquisition and engagement channels.
- Support the evaluation and testing of emerging channel opportunities, including LinkedIn.
- Coordinate messaging and content across teams to maintain a consistent and credible customer experience.
- Use performance data to prioritize initiatives and communicate the business impact of completed work.
Qualifications
- 8–10 years of experience in product marketing, lifecycle marketing, growth marketing, or a related field.
- Experience with consumer fintech products, mobile applications, subscription products, or similar digital services is preferred.
- Direct experience developing and executing SEO strategies.
- Strong knowledge of keyword research, content optimization, and on-page SEO.
- Experience managing and optimizing mobile app store listings.
- Comfort working in emerging channels such as answer engine optimization, AI search visibility, and large language model discovery, even when no established playbook exists.
- Excellent writing skills, editorial judgment, and the ability to communicate clearly across public-facing channels.
- Confidence engaging directly and authentically with customers and community members in public forums.
- A hands-on approach and willingness to execute the work directly rather than only provide strategic direction.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with Customer Experience, Growth, Brand, and Product teams.
- Ability to independently access, interpret, and use performance data to prioritize work and report on results.
- Strong analytical judgment and the ability to connect marketing performance with customer behavior and business outcomes.
- Ability to balance long-term strategy with ongoing execution, testing, optimization, and community engagement.
