Warehouse Associate

Employment type: Full-time

Pay: $25 - $28/hour

What this position involves

You’ll support shipping, receiving, order selection, inventory control, and product distribution across dry, refrigerated, cooler, and freezer warehouse areas while maintaining food safety, accuracy, and safe equipment operation.

Shipping and inventory duties

• Receive incoming products and distribute outgoing products according to established procedures.
• Select and palletize products for customer orders.
• Move products to the appropriate warehouse locations.
• Follow FIFO and FEFO inventory rotation procedures.
• Inspect perishable products for quality and report product integrity issues.
• Maintain accurate order records and warehouse documentation.
• Participate in inventory cycle counts.
• Help maintain accurate inventory records.
• Use warehouse technology and inventory systems as required.

Equipment and safety

• Operate electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Follow safe equipment handling procedures.
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.
• Report equipment problems promptly.
• Maintain a safe and accident-free work environment.
• Follow food safety standards and warehouse operating procedures.
• Keep warehouse areas clean, orderly, and properly maintained.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, food distribution, food service, or another regulated environment.
• Forklift certification or ability to become certified after hire.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory, order processing, and product handling.
• Ability to successfully complete required food safety training.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with warehouse teams.
• Reliable and adaptable in a fast-paced work environment.

Physical and environmental requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to lift, stretch, bend, turn, reach, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, and occasionally crawl.
• Ability to lift and carry loads for short distances of less than 50 feet.
• Ability to reach or lift upward to heights of 6 feet or greater.
• Ability to work in hot and cold warehouse environments.
• Ability to work in refrigerator, produce cooler, and freezer temperatures ranging from approximately -10°F to 41°F.
• Safety toe footwear with non-skid soles required.
